Angela Monroe is an educated woman—rational to the core, even somewhat skeptical. She believes in what science can prove is real. Unfortunately, her current situation is a page torn from a self-published cryptozoology textbook.

The sinister thing lurking in the shadows outside her house creeps, bleats, stalks, and clomps at all hours, keeping her from getting a good night’s rest. But it’s not only threatening Angela’s sanctuary, it’s out to terrorize her, and probably kill her in the most heinous fashion.

Slowly, this thing tugs at the frayed threads keeping her sanity from unravelling. Carefully, it wedges itself into the forefront of her life until she’s so obsessed with proving its existence that she loses sight of everything that’s important—her family, friends, and freedom.
